ArthaLand partners with IP-Converge to build smart homes

MANILA, Philippines - IP-Converge, the country’s first and only publicly-listed Internet data center and cloud services provider, has been tapped by property development firm ArthaLand Corporation to be its exclusive provider for the design and implementation of triple play services in Arya Residences, a world-class development rising along the McKinley Parkway in Bonifacio Global City.

Triple play is a service in which high definition video, high fidelity telephony and high-speed Internet access are made available over a single broadband connection. Arya residents will be able to enjoy these benefits, as well as the option to avail of home automation capabilities from IP-Converge’s enterprise-grade connectivity.

By harnessing the power of the Internet, IP-Converge will also provide “smart home” capabilities to Arya and its future residents. As part of ArthaLand’s vision to create “future-proof” homes, the partnership aims to deliver innovative projects that are well rounded and adaptable to new situations, technologies and needs.

A smart home is defined in architecture as one that has highly advanced automatic systems for lighting, temperature control, multi-media and security. In most cases, the Internet Protocol (IP), the same protocol by which data travels on the Internet, serves as the mechanism by which modern IP enabled home appliances and devices are networked. These IP “tools” are then converged into a single IP-enabled digital infrastructure for the purpose of automating the home and applying triple play services.

ArthaLand President and CEO Angie de Villa-Lacson says, “We are glad to partner with IP-Converge in this endeavor. We are confident that our residents will only enjoy the best technologies from the country’s premiere IT and telecommunications company, that provides state-of-the art IT enabled solutions and services.”

IP-Converge facilitated the design and building of the digital infrastructure for Arya Residences’ smart homes, starting with the installation of a fiber optic leased line into the residential building that’s connected to IP-Converge’s robust network infrastructure in its state-of-the-art Internet data center. This serves as the backbone of triple play and home automation services in the towers. Worldwide leader in networking Cisco provided consulting services for the project through IP-Converge.

According to IP-Converge President Rene Huergas, “The technology that we are building for Arya Residences is designed to provide homeowners with the ability to communicate, be entertained, and access various household components from his or her mobile device
