MAYOR SIGFRIDO Tinga of Taguig and Reghis Romero II of R-II Builders shake hands following the signing of the agreement for the development of Skyline City. Mikee Romero, R-II Builders director looks on.

TAGUIG City moves onward its “One Taguig” vision under Mayor Sigfrido Tinga with a joint-venture agreement with R-II Builders Inc. for a combined area development of about 11 hectares to build two major hubs, including one referred to as Skyline City.

Tinga signed late last week a P1-billion joint-venture agreement with R-II Builders Inc., headed by its chairman, Reghis Romero II,  for the mixed-use master-planned developments in barangays Ususan and Bagong Tanyag in Taguig.

The Skyline City is a mixed-used 8.8-hectare development in barangay Ususan and spans a 1.5-kilometer stretch from the Shell gas station to the Petron gas station along C-5 in Taguig.

A commercial mall and a strip of medium- to high-rise towers are also envisioned to rise, targeting neighboring central business districts, as well as several Philippine Economic Zone Authority-zoned call centers. It will have a market positioning similar to the Eastwood City in Libis, Quezon City.

The first part of the joint venture will involve the construction of medium-rise residential buildings in barangay Bagong Tanyag to benefit the constituents of Taquig, including qualified city employees, policemen, teachers, as well as its squatters.

Tinga expressed enthusiasm over the fulfillment of the “One Taguig” vision which integrates the interests of all sectors of the city constituency and other interest groups in its development.

The agreement involves an initial P100- million cash outlay by R-II Builders to prime the livelihood component in barangay Bagong Tanyag.

Signing the agreement during rites held at the Taguig City Hall are Tinga and Taguig City administrator Wilfredo Villar for the city and Reghis Romero II, chairman of the R2 Group of Companies, and Mikee Romero, R-II Builders director, for the R-II Builders.
