One Pacific Residence sales close to 70%

Tuesday, November 27, 2012
OFFICIALLY launched last August, the four-tower One Pacific Residence of Megaworld Corp. is close to hitting 70 percent in sales, top officials said.
Given the “surprising” sales uptake, the firm will launch its second tower early next year.
“Megaworld is happy this year, given the robust developments going on around the country. In Cebu, we are even happier with the positive market feedback,” said Megaworld Corp. senior vice president for marketing Noli Hernandez in an interview last Monday. “Even our president is pleased with the results we are generating so far.”
Megaworld Corp. is a subsidiary and real estate arm of the holding company Alliance Global Group Inc., which is chaired by taipan Andrew Tan. The company said they pioneered the “live-work-play” concept by developing residential buildings, office buildings and commercial centers into one community.

Early this year, the company started replicating the Eastwood concept in Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City by setting aside P10 billion for the five-year development of the new township project called The Mactan Newtown.
One Pacific Residence is the company’s latest addition to the 16-hectare integrated
township development. It will have three residential towers with a total of 540 units.
The fourth tower is an office building for potential business process outsourcing (BPO) locators.
The two residential towers were already sold to the Japanese market.
Most buyers of One Pacific Residence are end-users more than investors. They also have a good mix of local and foreign buyers, according to Maricor Manlangit, Megaworld first vice president for strategic planning division.
Hernandez said they are processing the franchising of public transportation in the area, in preparation for the influx of BPO employees next year.
“2013 is an exciting and busy year for Megaworld, with the entry of BPO locators,” he said.
Among the locators at the One World Center are Manila-based companies that are into animation, encoding and voice.
Hernandez said the entry of Manila-based real estate companies in Cebu just proves Cebu’s potential to become a prime driver of economic growth in the country.
“The presence of other players encourages us to be more competitive,” said Manlangit.
“The synergy and the symbiotic relationship in the industry would allow us to create communities that will eventually expand and overlap with other communities, producing a one bigger and better community,” Hernandez added.
The Mactan Newtown is the biggest project so far of Megaworld in southern Philippines. It will have residential condominiums, BPO offices, retail and entertainment strips, a wellness facility and an upscale boutique hotel.
It was recently declared a special economic zone. For more info, contact us at +63917.3236123.
