Summit on digital influencers to be held in Cebu

AFTER a successful Manila launch last Sept. 29, the Digital Influencers Marketing Summit is set to take place at SM Cebu Conference Room AB on Nov. 24.
The event is part of DigitalFilipino.com’s advocacy to build a digital influencers community from all over the country.
“The Internet, especially through social media, has empowered users to become digital influencers and brand advocates. The summit is meant to share lessons learned and best practices in this area to help those who are already into it. At the same, help the aspiring ones learn from it,” said Janette Toral of DigitalFilipino.com.
Social media specialist Fleire Castro and Cebu-based bloggers Kevin Ray Chua and Rabsin De la Cruz will share their insight on how bloggers have become influencers and brand advocates pushing for their own advocacies and tapped by brands for promotion.

SEO specialists Ruben Licera Jr. and Tof Salcedo will share practical advice on how entrepreneurs can use social media, through influencers and brand advocates, for their content to rank in search engine results. They’ll also talk about how to correct any
misinformation that is spread and protect one’s identity online.
With the 2013 elections happening soon, local and national political candidates are expected to use social media and tap influencers to spark conversations about their campaign agenda. Toral will share her experiments and observations on how campaigns are shaping online.
A lot of business establishments nowadays create awareness about their product or service by working with bloggers. Elisa Escobar of Azalea Residences Baguio and Richard Eldridge of Lenddo.com.ph will give advice to brand managers and entrepreneurs on how to collaborate with bloggers and social media users to generate awareness that can result in sales.
