A LEADING homegrown real estate company is planning to focus on tourism for its development line starting next year.
For 20 years in the industry, Primary Homes Inc. (PHI) refreshes its product line annually to deliver quality large-scale vertical and horizontal housing developments in the province, an official said.
As a new direction beginning 2013, PHI will address the demand of the booming tourism industry in the region.
According to PHI vice president for sales and marketing Ramero Espina, Cebu’s potential in real estate is growing, with the local economy backed by increasing tourist arrivals.
He said PHI is considering the expansion of businesses in Mactan, where PHI manages more than 60 percent of the infrastructure in the Mactan Export Processing Zone (Mepz) 1 in Lapu-Lapu City.

He said they are also considering the Korean community as an exclusive clientele, with a large population in Lapu-Lapu City.
With the aim of developing a second home destination outside Cebu City, PHI launched in November its first vacation project, the Argao Royal Palms that is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2014. The 2.9-hectare community is a two-hour drive from the city.
The introduction of Royal Palms Panglao in Bohol last year was PHI’s first venture outside Cebu. Espina is confident with their venture in the province as it has the highest per capita savers in Central Visayas with the growth of its overseas Filipino workers, tourist traffic and holiday resorts.
Royal Palms Panglao is a 2.5 hectare property with five Mediterranean-inspired units constructed as the largest and first private subdivision in Panglao, Bohol.
Argao Royal Palms and Royal Palms Panglao are two kick off PHI projects in promoting the tourism industry in the Visayas area, with the beach as the properties’ top selling point.
Espina said that based on the inquiries they got from abroad, a beach property is a traveler’s top choice.
The company is also developing the 28-floor residential condo Mabolo Garden Flats next year. Espina said expansions in Dumaguete and Davao Cities are probable.
