The Quiros family and Vista Land come together to create Sta. Elena City

TUESDAY, 28 JUNE 2011 18:58 MARITESS TUPAZ

Over 20 years ago, the Quiros family, whose numerous developments in Santa Rosa have established a tradition and style that have left an indelible mark in the area, made a commitment to develop the land of their heritage into a premier, master-planned community that echoes the rich, colorful past during the explosive growth of the sugar industry.

Today, that commitment has found expression as the Quiros family and Vista Land, the largest home builder in the country, have come together to make the family’s vision a reality.

The sublime alliance envisaged a development in the South that would successfully combine old-world charm with world-class developments that co-exist with its natural environment. The result is Sta. Elena City.

Launched on June 12 at the Peach Tree Clubhouse, Georgia Club, in the presence of Sen. Manuel Villar, Vista Land CEO Benjamarie Serrano, Bebo Quiros, Maria Elena Quiros, Brittany COO Camille Villar, Crown Asia COO Mary Lee Sadiasa, Brittany marketing head Nova Noval, photographer Wig Tysmans and Engr. Edwin Diaz, Sta. Elena City is a 260-hectare masterplan located in the heart of Santa Rosa, Laguna. One-hundred-twenty of the total 260 hectares have already been developed into a thriving community that is already in place; all that one has to do is come home.

Vista Land was the first to pioneer the idea of different themed enclaves, such as La Residencia, Belle Reve, Promenade, Fontamara and the more recent Georgia Club and Augusta, all in one area. That concept has been followed in the creation of Sta. Elena City, which is comprised of the following residential communities:

· La Residencia de Sta. Rosa. A 20-hectare Spanish-inspired development. With lot cuts ranging from 200 sq m to 300 sq m, the built-up community has been thriving since its establishment in 1994.

· Belle Reve. French for “a beautiful dream,” this 20-hectare French Mediterranean-inspired development is aptly named. Fifty percent of the community is devoted to open spaces. Custom home sites are surrounded by countless courtyards with beautifully landscaped gardens where no 2 are alike. Dotted with countless aged trees, Brittany’s quest to preserve the natural landscape is evident in the trees kept intact; there are even some in the middle of the road.

· Promenade. This 20-hectare community was the answer to Belle Reve’s great success with investment buyers. Inspired by the beautiful English gardens, this stunning sprawling community is full of vibrant garden mazes and lovely flowers. Brittany took the theme a bit further by creating a charming secret garden within the community.

· Fontamara. This three-hectare community is named after a quaint village in Southern Italy. Made to be very exclusive, the development is rich in Italian details such as the lovely cobblestone entrance gateway.

· Georgia Club. A charming 15-hectare development inspired by the American Southern State of its namesake. The community is designed to both encourage and preserve a way of life that recognizes friendship and family as integral components to the enjoyment of life. A mecca for nature lovers, Georgia Club is a sprawling woodland with over 1,200 trees that are over 50-years-old, including narra, mahogany, acacia and gmelina. Plus, in a survey done by the Wild Bird Club of the Philippines, Georgia Club is seen to be a sanctuary to at least 25 different species of birds.

· Augusta. This expansive 15-hectare residential development is set in the heart of an undisturbed natural environment. A custom home-site development, here you’re free to create the colonial home of your dreams.

· Valenza. Crown Asia’s Valenza is a 14-hectare Italian-inspired community. The name was taken from the Italian word “valence,” meaning balance. Valenza helps families fulfill that much-needed balance between work and home life.

Beyond the classic Italian architecture and plush landscaping, Valenza’s lush and spacious surroundings, affable and secure neighborhood, and exquisite amenities make it the perfect community for young families to grow and value the finer things in life

· Hacienda Sta. Elena. Perhaps the most exclusive community in Santa Rosa, this 32-hectare development by Mesa Land personifies what “hacienda living” is all about…unparalleled wide open spaces, a picturesque manmade lake (the first in Santa Rosa) and sprawling tree abounding milieu. With lot cuts of almost one hectare per property, this estate is reserved only for the privileged and affluent few.

· Mesa Homes. Originally the housing project given to the Hacienda employees, this charming neighborhood has grown into a charming authentic community.

· UST. The oldest university in Asia will continue its heritage of excellence in education in Santa Rosa. The UST complex shall have a teaching hospital and a choice residential community with a complementary commercial area nearby.

· Acacia Waldorf School. An exclusive and renowned preschool and elementary school inside Hacienda Sta. Elena known for its holistic approach to teaching.

· Centro Sta. Elena Commercial Area. This six-hectare parcel fronting the Santa Rosa-Tagaytay road will have restaurants, supermarkets, BPOs, specialty shops, cafés, sports facilities and events venues. It will be unique in its design, working with the natural landscape of the area and shall be executed by internationally acclaimed master planners.

According to Vista Land CEO Benjamarie “Jing” Serrano, “There are many reasons why home hunters should consider Sta. Elena City. First, they don’t have to imagine it as most of the development is already existing. In fact, they can go visit us and see the property for themselves. Second, most communities in the area are claiming to be green yet are still undergoing land development. Sta. Elena is green; there are abundant trees in all the communities, some over a century old.”

Serrano further shares, “From the start, Sta. Elena was conceptualized as a community for people—pleasant, convenient and homely. Our subdivisions are uniquely themed and any future homeowner will find a setting that suits their taste and lifestyle. Those with kids will also appreciate that nearness of the upcoming UST and established Acacia Waldorf School plus the educational institutions—perfect for a growing family. Avid golfers will also take delight in the fact that Sta. Elena City is just minutes away from three of the country’s leading golf courses, the Sta. Elena Golf Club, the Country Club, and the Canlubang Golf and Country Club. All are rated among the best in Asia. With the completion of our commercial hub, everything will be literally within reach of Sta. Elena City’s residents.”

Everything about Sta. Elena City is real. Serrano reiterates this with the community’s creed, which goes:

“We are not about dreaming of the future, we are about living in the now.

“We are not about engineered landscapes, we are about creating natural landscapes.

“We are not about manufactured cities, we are about coexisting communities.

“We are not about building from nothing, we are about working with what’s existing.

“We are not about manipulating nature, we are about working with nature.

“We are not about inventors of nature, we are about stewards of nature.

“In Sta. Elena, we continue with what nature has started and capitalize on its natural beauty. We are authentic not just in our communities but also in our promise.”
