CEBU, Philippines - The Visayan Electric Company yesterday launched another innovation to serve their customers better.
The new program enables customers to inquire their monthly bills and its due date thru text.
VECO spokesperson Ethel Natera said the launching of the “VECO Bill by texting” is another way of providing better service and convenience to their over 300,000 customers within their franchise area.
Veco’s franchise area covers the cities of Mandaue, Cebu, Talisay and Naga and the municipalities of Liloan, Minglanilla and San Fernando. Even with the new program, customers will still receive printout of their monthly bills, which will be delivered to them.
According to Natera, they see the practicality of texting since most, if not all, of the people is already using cellular phones.

Natera however said customers has to register on-line first by visiting VECO’s website and click the “register here” button. The VECO account name, account I.D., e-mail address and cellphone numbers must be provided on the online registration form.
For multiple accounts, same or other contact details maybe used, whichever is preferable to the customers.
Natera said they are still studying whether a customer can also receive a notice of disconnection thru text. — (FREEMAN)
