Energy Forum gains strong support from business groups

CEBU, Philippines - The upcoming 1st Philippine Energy Efficiency Forum has gained interest from several business organizations in Cebu, indicating the strong interest to strongly support the advocacy.

Led by the European Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines (ECCP), the forum themed “ Synergizing Partnerships for an Energy Efficient and Competitive Philippines” easily got the support from different big business organizations in Cebu, such as the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Canadian Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, Cebu Business Club, and Mactan Island Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

According to ECCP, these organizations committed to encourage their members to participate in the event slated on July 26, 2011 at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.

Private and pioneering companies featuring green technologies and services have also joined the bandwagon like the International Finance Corporation, Schneider Electric, Bank of the Philippine Islands, Pilipinas Shell, Greenworld LED Solutions, Inc. ABB, First Gen, Meralco and Phillips.

The 1st PEEF 2011 Cebu is a forum that brings together the most influential leaders & officials from the government, business & NGO’s in one event, with a shared passion that the Simplest, Easiest and Most Effective way of addressing the country’s problems in energy and climate change is through Energy Efficiency.

PEEF focuses solely on energy efficiency from the business perspective of enterprises in the utilities, buildings, commercial, industrial, and transport/ logistics sectors. Moreover, the event will provide participants with the opportunity to learn and share state-of-the-art and cutting edge technologies, and best practices in energy management.

This one day event will be jampacked with networking activities, plenary sessions and open forums with influential figures from the Local and International companies and organizations such as UNIDO, World Bank, IFC, Cebu Holdings, First Carbon Solutions and ASEAN among others. A Technology Showcase will be exhibiting the latest technologies in energy-efficient products and services available in the country.

This event is open to all sectors who are interested to find solutions to their energy needs.

ECCP is a bilateral foreign chamber that promotes European interests in the Philippines as well as Philippine interests in Europe. With more than 700 members, ECCP offers a strong business network that potentially translates to multiple business opportunities.
